  • 4.21 / Tenure and Promotion - Guidelines and Criteria
    Effective July 1, 1997 · Last revised Sept. 21, 2020

    This policy is being revised to:

    • Refer to existing tenure review exceptions as set forth in policy 4.18 and 4.19
    • Recognize UniScope Scholarship Model may be used as framework to enhance the description of faculty activities
    • Clarify no expectation for review for tenure prior to 6-year rank unless meet one of the exceptions in 4.18 and 4.19, or petition for review is approved by chair and dean

    • Remove reference to “Non-WSU sites” for information on copyright

    • Update the Designated Agent for complaints to a general title (Chief Information Security Officer)

    This policy is being revised to update data destruction procedures.

    Specific changes made were: Adding requirement for data destruction to be in accordance with NIST 800-88

    This is a new policy. This policy is in response to the Kansas Board of Regent’s request that the University obtain additional assurances that more contractors and developers are provided an opportunity to contract for the design, development or construction of projects on the Innovation Campus.

    • Removing words of “officer” and using words such as “employee or leadership” and updating department names “Counseling and Preventative Services”
    • Removing where list of controlled substances would be maintained as printed controlled substances lists could be out of date and online lists should be used.

    • Incorporating clear policy prohibitions in policy statement
    • Incorporating clear procedures in the event of violation
