Game Design

About the program

Wichita State University offers a Bachelor of Applied Arts in Media Arts with a concentration in Game Design. The program combines technical skills and artistic practice, providing hands-on experience with tools like motion capture systems and virtual reality headsets.

Faculty members bring valuable industry experience, and students learn software such as Maya, ZBrush, Substance 3D Painter, and Unreal Engine, focusing on character and environment art, including VFX for games. Collaborations with Ballet Wichita and the Ulrich Museum help build portfolios, while trips to the Game Developers Conference connect students with industry professionals.
