The minimum recommended specs for laptops in the School of Digital Arts are listed below. Typically, we see more PCs in Animation and Game Design, and more Mac in Audio Production and Filmmaking.

Windows

  • Windows 11 (64-bit)
  • Memory (RAM): 16GB
  • Processor (CPU)
    • Intel i7 (10th Gen) or
    • AMD Ryzen 7 4000 series
  • Hard drive: 512GB SSD
  • Graphics card (not integrated): Nvidea RTX 2000 series
  • A 3-button mouse

Mac

  • We recommend looking at a minimum of 16GB RAM.
  • The M1 chip should work satisfactorily for most projects, but the M2 chip will work better

We also recommend getting a 1TB external hard drive to hold larger files.
