The F1RST GEN Coordinating Council at Wichita State University is composed of Wichita State individuals who are involved in the FGEN efforts that support current university activities, explore opportunities for departmental collaboration, look for opportunities to enhance the campus-wide approach to serve F1RST GEN SHOCKERS and make recommendations for new initiatives.
Navigating the culture on a college campus and learning the unwritten rules of said culture can be a challenge. In acknowledgement of this fact, and in support of our mission to be an educational driver for the state of Kansas, Wichita State formed the First-Generation Coordinating Council.
The First-Generation Fellows Coordinator supports SEM Goal 3 to Increase persistence rates of degree seeking student populations. The First-Generation Fellows Coordinator convenes the First-Generation Fellows in their work in advancing first-generation student success, with the Coordinator and each Fellow leading a working group of the F1RST Generation Coordinating Council.
The Council is made up of a team of professionals with representatives of the WSU colleges, programs and service centers.
