Immigration Documents

  • Passport – must remain valid at least six months into the future at all times
  • Visa – may expire while you are inside the U.S. Visa expiration does not affect status, but you will need a new visa in order to reenter the U.S. after traveling abroad.
  • Continued Attendance I-20 (created in SEVIS – Student and Exchange Visitor Information System)
  • I-94 Arrival Record – available at www.cbp.gov/i94, needed for Social Security card and Kansas Driver’s license

Remember:

  • Always travel with your passport and I-20
  • Email a PDF copy of your most recent I-20 to ISS for travel signature before traveling outside of U.S.
  • Keep previously-issued I-20s in a safe place. You may need them in the future.
  • Watch your @shockers.wichita.edu email for notifications from iss@wichita.edu.
