The Health Science programs equip students with the technical expertise and comprehensive understanding of healthcare essential for success in clinical roles, whether they aspire to pursue nursing, physical therapy, physician associate studies, or other clinical graduate programs. Through coursework in the Scientific Foundations Division, students develop a deep knowledge of the human body, disease processes, and preventive care. Additionally, coursework in the Department of Public Health Sciences addresses crucial topics such as healthcare ethics, communication skills, and patient interaction, all vital for effective clinical practice.
This educational experience is enhanced by a collaborative partnership among the Scientific Foundations Division, the Department of Public Health Sciences, and the pre-medical advising resources within the Liberal Arts and Sciences Advising Center. The strong collaboration with pre-medical and health professions advisors enables students to navigate their curriculum efficiently, ensuring they fulfill the prerequisites for their desired programs while preparing for a successful career in healthcare.
The collaboration between clinical and business in the degree has been very helpful in my career! Often clinical majors have no exposure to the business side and vice versa. Getting to know BOTH sides of healthcare was VERY important.
