General Electric (GE) Aviation, the Aerospace Engineering (AE) department, and the Kansas Department of Commerce (KDC) are passionate about increasing the availability of well-prepared engineers. As a result, and with Kansas Department of Commerce (KDC) help, WSU created an Applied Propulsion Track within the current aerospace engineering BS degree program. Graduates who complete the track are uniquely prepared to work in the turbojet engine industry. Indeed, GE Aviation in Winfield, KS, is very interested in recruiting WSU Applied Propulsion Track students to participate in internship and full-time employment opportunities. This program is a great way to prepare for a fantastic career!
The Applied Propulsion Track fits within the existing AE BS degree program. Participants complete the following required and elective courses to fulfill track requirements (see the course catalog):
Electives include the following:
* Note: These courses do not count as a technical elective for the BS in aerospace engineering degree, but may be used to fulfill the applied propulsion track requirement.
WSU is working closely with area community colleges to establish 2+2 or 2+3 schedules that feed into the WSU AE BS degree program and the Applied Propulsion Track. Information on articulation agreements with Butler Community College and Cowley Community College can be found by as follows:
Articulation agreements with other community colleges are in the works. Watch this page for updates and additional information.

The Applied Propulsion Track is a great way to secure unique career opportunities! If you have questions, feel free to contact the director, Dr. Myose, for more information.
