Wichita State University's College of Health Professions combines quality, accredited

The Shocker City Partnership grants resident tuition rates to students from specific
metropolitan areas in Arkansas, Colorado, Illinois, Iowa, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma
and Texas, making the cost of attending Wichita State significantly less than out-of-state
tuition. Undergraduate students enrolled in 15 credit hours per semester would save
more than $9,900 per year in tuition, compared to nonresident tuition rates. Shocker
City Partnership is also available to graduate students.

Alex Day, from Austin, recommends Wichita State University because of its supportive
faculty and its College of Health Professions. She enjoys Wichita’s music scene and
exploring the downtown science center Exploration Place, located on the Arkansas River.
Shockers come from all over, and students from selected major metropolitan areas in
Arkansas, Colorado, Illinois, Iowa, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma and Texas may be
eligible to receive regular in-state tuition at Wichita State. Read what some out-of-state students have to say about why they chose WSU — and
Wichita — as their new home.
How did you first hear about Wichita State University?
My mom is an alumna of Wichita State, and I heard about the college from her.
Why did you choose WSU?
The pricing for WSU and the medical and science programs here made a big impact on
why I chose Wichita State.
What are some of the opportunities and activities you've participated in at Wichita
State?
I represented the Medical Laboratory Sciences Club as vice president in spring of
2023 and as president in fall of 2024.
One of my favorite memories was a meet-up where a bunch of students from the health
professions programs got together for pizza and bowling.
What were your perceptions about the city of Wichita before you visited for the first
time?
I thought Wichita was going to be a lot smaller than it is. I came from a big city
and was concerned there wouldn’t be much to do.
However, I’ve found that there is definitely a lot to do, on campus and off. I really
like all the concert halls in Wichita. I also enjoy all the cool things to do at the
Exploration Place.
What would you tell someone who's considering Wichita State?
For people who are considering choosing WSU, I definitely think that it is a wonderful
school with knowledgeable and caring teachers. There are plenty of people on campus
who are here to help you succeed in every endeavor you undertake at Wichita State.
