May 26, 2026 — Hexcel Corporation, a global leader in advanced composite materials, will join Wichita State University’s National Institute for Aviation Research, along with U.S. Senator Jerry Moran, to break ground on the new Hexcel Applications Center. This major investment expands Wichita’s role as a hub for aerospace innovation and advanced manufacturing.

May 26, 2026 — Wichita State University has received approval to rename University Stadium to Crossland Stadium in recognition of Crossland Construction’s significant contributions and longstanding connections to the university.

May 19, 2026 — Dr. Moriah Beck, Talaty Endowed Research Professor of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Wichita State University, has been elected a 2025 Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, one of the world’s largest and most prestigious scientific societies.

May 7, 2026 — More than 2,400 students are eligible to participate in Wichita State University’s 128th spring commencement ceremony on Friday, May 15 and Saturday, May 16 in Charles Koch Arena.
