WSU Policies and Procedures: What's New

Compliance related changes to this policy are required in light of recent changes to state and federal laws, orders, and guidance. Additionally, the following specific changes were made:

• Unit names and report titles have been updated.
• The section titled "Chair of the Committee" (Section III.A.3.) has been revised to reflect longstanding practice.
• References in Section III.B.3.a., to the "Wichita State University Alumni Association" and "Industry Engagement and Applied Learning" Units were removed as these Unit names are no longer correct, and the Units are covered in Section III.A.1.a.
• Finally, formatting updates were also made throughout to align the policy with the current policy form.

This policy is being revised to provide more clarity as to the conditions under which posting materials and sidewalk chalking is permissible on University Premises.

This policy is being revised to provide more clarity as to the requirements for engaging in expressive activity on University Premises, including adding definitions and more detail in the process for providing notice of an expressive activity, as well as the requirements for having such an event. In addition, the policy is being updated to conform with the University's standard policy format.

This policy was approved by PET on February 02, 2025. After it was approved, additional feedback was received requesting small changes to the language.

• Modified language in Section I (A) to remove petitions to the President on negative recommendations from the deadline requirement in March.
• Modified language in Section I (A) to include April deadline for requests for meeting with the Provost and President to discuss (limited to situations where a person is not recommended by the President).

This policy is being proposed to inform and govern University action in the event of Inclement Weather or other Emergency Events.

This is an update to ensure alignment with FAR 52.222-50.
