To identify employees and students eligible for a waiver of student tuition and fees.
With certain exceptions, student tuition and fees are required of every student enrolled
at Wichita State University. The intent of this policy is to set forth the limited
circumstances where student tuition and fees can permissibly be waived.
Policy
Pursuant to K.S.A. 76-719c, the Kansas Board of Regents shall approve all university
programs to offer to students tuition and fee waivers, specifically the Board shall
review and approve the standards, conditions and requirements “designed to foster
the growth, distinction, and stability of the state educational institution and the
quality of its educational programs and pursuits.”
The University shall apply exemptions and waivers for tuition and fees based upon
applications and supporting documents that meet the criteria of the exemption or waiver
approved by the Kansas Board of Regents. The Vice President for Finance and Administration
provides management oversight of waivers and exemptions available to students.
A list of available tuition waivers, exemptions and discounts, as well as the criteria
and application forms, are posted on the WSU Accounts Receivable Waivers/Exemptions/Discounts web page and are defined in the Comprehensive Fee Schedule.
Eligibility for each is based on information on the form and is considered when received.
