ORCID is an international, interdisciplinary, open, non-proprietary, and not-for-profit organization created by the research community for the benefit of all stakeholders, providing a persistent digital identifier (an ORCID iD) that distinguishes researchers with record that supportsautomatic links among all professional activities.  A researcher’s ORCID iD and connections are stored in the ORCID Registry, in an account owned and managed by individual researchers.  The WSU Office of Research recommends that Researchers set up their ORCID if they have not already, as some federal funders may require the use of an ORCID as part of a researcher’s biographical sketch or CV.

“The purpose of this Notice is to promote studies examining the mechanisms by which obesity drives aggressive prostate cancer (PCa) risk. About 80% of overall PCa is non-aggressive. The biologic mechanisms driving both overall and aggressive PCa are uncertain. The identification of differences in the mechanisms driving aggressive vs. overall (mostly non-aggressive) disease are critical to optimizing clinical care among men who develop the disease. PCa has an outsized impact on African Americans who are more likely to develop aggressive disease and twice as likely to die from the disease compared to other racial and ethnic groups.”

“This AHRQ Data Management and Sharing Policy (hereinafter “DMS Policy” or “Policy”) applies to all AHRQ-funded grants and cooperative agreements (hereinafter collectively referred to as “grants”), and research contracts that generate scientific data and metadata as described in this Policy unless otherwise specified in the funding announcement or request for proposal. This policy requires applicants for AHRQ new and non-competing grants and research contracts to include a data management plan and a data sharing plan (DMS Plan) for managing, storing and disseminating the primary data, samples, physical collections, and other supporting materials created or gathered in the course of research funded by AHRQ, and for sharing data, or state why data management and data sharing is not possible, as a component of their grant application or research contract proposal. AHRQ intramural researchers are expected to submit DMS Plans with their research proposal.”
