The goal date for informing you if you have been chosen to proceed is May 16, 2023. Applications to the funder (if selected) will be due by June 20, 2023.
Purpose: “This program supports the creation of a prototype Open Knowledge Network — an interconnected network of knowledge graphs supporting a very broad range of application domains. Open access to shared information is essential for the development and evolution of artificial intelligence (AI) and AI-powered solutions needed to address the complex challenges facing the nation and the world.”
Amount: Up to $1,500,000

Title: Research Grants on Education: Large
Application Deadlines: Intent to Apply due April 27, 2023; Full applications due May 24, 2023
Purpose: “The Large Research Grants on Education Program supports education research projects that will contribute to the improvement of education, broadly conceived…This program is “field-initiated” in that proposal submissions are not in response to a specific request for a particular research topic, discipline, design, method, or location. While currently holding a Senior Grant and Contract Specialist position within the office, she previously served as the IRB Administrator as well as a part-time Funding Opportunity Specialist. Sarah has found joy in being part of the ever-growing research initiatives on campus and is proud to serve the WSU community. She resides in Colwich and is married to her high-school sweetheart, Derek. They have two school-aged boys, Isley & Finley. She values spending as much time as possible with her children, and, in Sarah’s (mostly imaginary) free time, she enjoys gardening, road trips and long summer weekends at the lake with her extended family. “The Proposal & Award Policies & Procedures Guide (PAPPG) is comprised of documents relating to the Foundation's proposal and award process for the assistance programs of NSF. The PAPPG, in conjunction with the applicable standard award conditions incorporated by reference in the award, serve as the Foundation’s implementation of 2 CFR §200, Uniform Administrative Requirements, Cost Principles, and Audit Requirements for Federal Awards.”Read the NSF FAQ for PAPPG 23-1

“Several NSF solicitations issued by the Directorates for Biological Sciences and Geosciences (BIO/GEO) are included in a pilot that will require submission of an SAI Plan for consideration as part of the merit review process in lieu of the organizational plan specified in the Proposal and Award Policies and Procedures Guide (PAPPG), Chapter II.E.9. The SAI Plan is a project-specific 2-page Supplementary Document that will be considered under the Broader Impacts review criterion for any proposal with off-campus or off-site research submitted to a solicitation participating in the BIO/GEO pilot.”Read the NSF FAQ 23-071

“The purpose of this Notice of Special Interest is to inform potential applicants that the National Eye Institute is interested in supporting research to develop innovative informatics and data science methods, algorithms, and tools to improve data acquisition, analysis, visualization, annotation, integration, and interpretation. The emphasis will be on innovation and its potential impact on vision research, including discovery biology, population studies, as well as clinical and translational research.” Read the NIH NOSI: NIH-EY-23-005

“This Notice of Special Interest highlights the need for research on strategies and interventions to increase vaccine uptake and implementation among populations experiencing health disparities in the United States and its territories. Research is needed to understand and address misinformation, uncertainty, distrust, and hesitancy regarding uptake of vaccines (e.g., SARS-CoV-2, pneumococcal, influenza, hepatitis B, human papilloma virus (HPV), varicella, tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis [Tdap]) among individuals in the U.S. and its territories, especially in populations at increased risk for morbidity and mortality due to long-standing systemic health and social inequities, as well as chronic medical conditions.” Read the NIH NOSI: NIH-MD-23-008

“The purpose of this Notice of Special Interest is to encourage applications for research to promote language and communication in autistic individuals who are minimally verbal/non-speaking. Further research is needed to evaluate and tailor existing interventions, develop novel interventions, develop and apply new research designs and methods to intervention efforts, and identify meaningful outcome measures.” Read the NIH NOSI: NIH-DC-23-009
