Elsie is a Transfer Admissions Representative for the Office of Undergraduate Admissions.
She graduated from WSU with her B.S. in Health Management with minors in Spanish and
Health Science. Her advice to future Shockers is to press save A LOT and to invest
in a planner.
Admissions resources in Spanish can often be limited. This gap can make it more challenging
for students from multilingual families to navigate application deadlines, financial
aid processes and scholarship opportunities effectively. The Office of Admissions
at Wichita State University is addressing the needs of our growing student population
that come from Spanish-speaking households through programming, publications and other
initiatives to help families actively participate in their students’ college decision-making
process.
The following are the admissions resources available in Spanish. The Office of Admissions
is happy to provide physical copies to any student, school or community organization
upon request:
Many of these materials are provided to students attending on-campus recruitment events, such as the Spanish Scholarship Information Programs for high school seniors and Spanish Shocker Saturdays, a weekend campus visit opportunity. Additionally, students can schedule weekday
campus visits entirely in Spanish, which include a presentation, a campus tour, and
a one-on-one appointment with an admissions staff member.
Also, the Office of Admissions has launched a website entirely in Spanish with information on admissions, scholarships, financial aid, upcoming events and
more!
