Team Events

  • Fall Frenzy

Each year, the team travels to the Oklahoma State University campus to participate in Fall Frenzy, an event offering an invaluable opportunity for new team members to gain exposure to the typical dynamics of a Baja race. It also facilitates strategic networking with teams from across the state, fostering an exchange of insights into comprehensive vehicle design and further enhancing the team's understanding of the field.

  • Nascar

Each year, as a way of creating a bonding atmosphere, the team travels to the Kansas City Speedway to engage in a multifaceted experience centered around a Nascar race. The trip includes participating in track signing prior to the race and strategic networking opportunities with a diverse array of companies and organizations. These activities not only contribute to team cohesion and bonding, but also serve as valuable avenues for professional development and industry connections.

  • Competitions

Our team consistently participates in a range of 1 to 3 competitions annually, which encompass a diverse array of assessments spanning from comprehensive business presentations to meticulous brake checks, suspension challenges, and beyond. Historically, these competitions have been hosted in several prominent locations, including Pennsylvania, Michigan, California, Oregon, and numerous other prestigious venues across the nation.

  • Collaboration Events

The team engages in collaborative partnerships with a variety of organizations annually, encompassing a spectrum of events including engineering challenges, professional presentations, and even recreational activities such as Mario Kart tournaments. These engagements serve as valuable platforms to not only inform our team members about external organizations and opportunities, but also facilitate a constructive discourse regarding our own team's initiatives.

Volunteer Events

  • Prairie Fire Marathon

The team has been privileged to engage in volunteer activities during the annual Prairie Fire race, which features both a half marathon and a full marathon segment. Our volunteer responsibilites primarily involve providing assistance at the hydration stations, where we distribute essential supplies such as water and Gatorade to runners.

  • Trunk or Treat

This event provides an opportunity for our team to deepen its' integration within the broader community surrounding the Wichita State University campus. Annually, numerous organizations and groups unite to organize a safe trick-or-treating experience for children and families within the vicinity. Our team gladly participates by distributing candy and actively engaging with these families, reinforcing our commitment to community outreach and fostering positive relationships beyond the campus boundaries.

  • Clean Streams

Wichita Clean Streams is a recurring event dedicated to enhancing and safeguarding the water quality of the Arkansas River. Our team has had the privilege of participating in this initiative, actively contributing to the collection and responsible disposal of debris and contaminants within the river.

  • JDRF One Walk

This annual walk serves as a fundraising platform to drive critical advancements in the diabetes community, with a particular focus on benefiting Type 1 diabetics. In support of one of our team members who lives with the disease, we actively volunteer at multiple stations during the event. Our duties include the distribution of hydration and nourishment to participants, as well as offering encouragement to those taking part in the walk.
