Three Wichita State University College of Education students were recognized for their
achievements as part of the 2027 Kansas Teacher of the Year program.
Kevin Nicholls and Danielle Blue, students in Wichita State's Teacher Apprentice Program™ (TAP), were recognized as
Teachers of Promise. This recognition honors outstanding teacher education students
from institutions across Kansas who demonstrate potential as future educators. As
part of the recognition, students had the opportunity to participate in a professional
development workshop led by the 2026 Kansas Teacher of the Year Team.
Brandy Lane, a teacher at Goddard Middle School and current student in Wichita State's School
Counseling program, was named the 2027 Kansas Teacher of the Year. This prestigious statewide honor recognizes excellence in teaching and celebrates
