Many of my friends were attending Kansas State University, and I wanted something
different. Wichita State offered a fresh start and a supportive environment that ended
up being the perfect fit for me.
How did scholarships benefit you during your time at WSU?
I initially received a small scholarship through my plate therapy program and later
was awarded the Osher Reentry Scholarship. That helped reduce financial stress and allowed me to focus on my academics and applied
learning experiences.
What applied learning experiences did you participate in during your time here?
I volunteered with Timeless Care Homes, Cuisine for Healing, and MINDSET MoveWell.
Those places gave me hands‑on experience while serving the community.
What advice would you give other Wichita State students?
Take advantage of every resource available. Don’t be afraid to ask questions or ask
for help. The staff truly want to see students succeed.
What are your plans after graduation?
I plan to attend graduate school in gerontology and hope to pursue a career in the
hospice field, though I am still exploring where that path may lead.
