Our program offers great opportunities to students at Wichita State University on
recreational, developmental, and championship levels. Whether you are an experienced
high school rower or a new-to-the-sport walk-on, there is a chance for you to be part
of our successful program.
Shocker Rowing will celebrate its 50th anniversary April 26-27 with activities honoring
the history of the program at Wichita State University.
Founded in 1975, Shocker Rowing has competed at home on the Arkansas River and across
the nation in the sport’s most prestigious events. The celebration of five decades
of excellence will include opportunities for alumni, current Shockers and the community
to recognize the many achievements of crew at Wichita State.
"We are thrilled to celebrate this significant milestone in Shocker Rowing's history,"
said Calvin Cupp, coach of Shocker Rowing. "This anniversary is not only a testament
to the hard work and dedication of our athletes, coaches and supporters, but also
a reflection of the strong sense of community that has been built over the past 50
years. We look forward to the next 50 being even better."
Events will take place at the River Vista Boathouse, on the Arkansas River and on
campus.
