How did you first hear about Wichita State University?
My sister toured Wichita State about five years ago to look at the nursing program.
It was affordable, great for business students, good with transfer credits, and acknowledges diverse backgrounds.
I chose Wichita State because of my major (entrepreneurship). Other universities I visited didn't specifically have entrepreneurship. Also, I had quite a few scholarships from WSU.
I am an ambassador with the Office of Admissions (Student Ambassador Society) and with the Office of Diversity and Inclusion. I participated in Passage 2 Success, Promoting Academic Student Success (PASS), Clash of the Colleges, Shockers After Dark, and Late Night Breakfast.
Coming from a big city such as Denver, I thought that Wichita was very small, but there was still lots I could do. Before I visited, honestly, I thought it was just going to be a college campus around some corn fields. After I visited, and now that I am here, it feels like home. There's a lot to do.
Follow your heart, don't force yourself to go to a school because of one reason. Look at the options. For WSU look for scholarships and financial aid, and look into the offices, housing and organizations, programs and clubs to join.
