My degree is a Master's of Public Administration.
Colwich, Kansas.
I was attracted to the fact that Wichita State is the only urban research university in the state of Kansas. I enjoy the vibrancy and uniqueness of the students at Wichita State.
I am excited to be started in my career as a public administrator. I am also feeling thankful for how supportive Wichita State University has been over the pandemic. That support helped me make it through my final year of graduate school.
Hands down, the most helpful learning experience I had while a student at Wichita State was the exposure to highly skilled, passionate and engaged professors who truly care about their students.
The biggest challenge I experienced as a student was the transition to remote learning brought on by the pandemic. I was able to overcome that struggle with the help of my cohort and the faculty and staff of the Hugo Wall School of Public Affairs.
I plan to work in public administration - hopefully at Sedgwick County.
The pandemic has shown me how important it is to be flexible and to lean on support systems. No one could have made it through this pandemic without others.
I would encourage other Wichita State students to appreciate the unique opportunities they have. Take the time to get to know your fellow students and your campus. This is a wonderful community to be a part of.
