Wichita State University students Jared Goering, Ryan Becker, and Spencer Steinert
were among three college teams nationwide invited to participate in Red Bull's Innovation
Summit this month in New York City.
The three-day workshop was designed to help hone students' investor pitch and further
develop their business ideas.
The WSU students were invited based on the potential of their business, Cyfive, a
biometric temporary tattoo.
Also in attendance were the co-founders of an Austin-based ride-share app, Krew, and
an online clothing platform that helps girls choose party outfits, Swayy.
The students were selected from a pool of 140 applicants. The event was highlighted
in an Aug. 10 article in Forbes.
The New York City summit was part of the larger Red Bull Launch Institute, designed
to support a small group of selected entrepreneurs by hosting meetups and providing
exclusive access to networking events, among other benefits.
Goering, Becker and the other students now have the opportunity to attend the annual
TechCrunch Disrupt, a highly coveted chance to pitch their business in front of Silicon
Valley investors, entrepreneurs and the media.
